What's Been Happening in Year 3

Primary Year 3

It has been all go in Year 3 and we have had lots of exciting learning taking place.

Last week we were lucky enough to have Plastic Free Seas come and talk to us about how plastic affects mangroves, mountains and streams and our beautiful beaches. We then went off into other classes to talk about the different ways plastic affects different environments and got a turn at teaching others it was heaps of fun.

This week for our saving the world unit we have been finishing off our Beautiful Lantau note taking where we watched this amazing video with information about all the plants and wildlife on Lantau. We are now moving onto the science part of our unit looking at classifying different animals.

We learning our times tables at the moment and there has been some exciting times table learning taking place in some classes through rapping.

Excitingly we had the Big Award for writing this week where the provocation was the book chalk- the words had disappeared and characters came to life.  We designed our own chalk make believe and this was so much fun. We then put our non- chronological report skills into practice to write a non chronological report about our creatures.

We are looking forward to setting targets for the next steps of our learning.  Remember to keep up to date with whats happening in the Year 3 classes in Twitter.
