What's been happening in Year 4

Primary Year 4

It has been a busy time in Year 4 and we cannot believe that the end of year is in sight.  We have been having loads of fun with our new unit of Enquiry Visual Representation and have been learning about all different kinds of art and artists. The best part of the art is making your own pieces of art inspired by some of these artists.

Our focus in writing has been character descriptions.  We have been describing the girl from our model text ‘Journey’ which consists of no words just pictures. This has been a good lead up to our Big Award for Writing piece.  The stimulus for this has been Tom and the Night Zoo videos.  Who will be the big winners this term?

We have had a few published writers in the Young South China Morning Post Top 10, which has been very exciting. Last week, Daniel Mapp had his entry published for the most courageous thing he has ever done. His writing painted a wonderful picture of him overcoming his fear of heights.

In maths the students have been busy revising their year's learning in preparation for the end of year assessments.

Finally, a reminder that our Year 4 Celebration of Learning takes place on 15 June. The students cannot wait to share their learning with you. Have a wonderful week.
