Year 9 Newsletter
It’s hard to believe that we are now well into the swing of term 3 and the end of the academic year is just a few weeks away.
As always the pace of life in Year 9 has been non stop since the students returned from their Easter break, with some notable events still to come.
I would like to thank and congratulate all Year 9 students who contributed to the overwhelming success of the school production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It was an outstanding showcase of the talent that our Year 9 students possess, both onstage and in preparations behind the scenes. In addition a word of congratualtions to Sienna Bertamini, Janice Ho And Micah Zirkelbach for their achievements in the Around DB Young Writer’s Award competition. The maturity and sophistication of their entries were truly remarkable and well worth reading if you get the opportunity.
Another round of Year 9 short reports was released at the beginning of the term, and I would ask all students to consider the challenge levels set in respective subject areas and aim to achieve these levels by the end of the year. By way of celebration the Tutor Group representatives are working towards an end of Year 9 social activity, the details of which will follow in the next few days. Applications for House Captain roles in the next academic year are now open and I would encourage any Year 9 students to put their names forward.
