A week in the life of DBIS
I am delighted to welcome everyone back to another exciting third term at DBIS.
I’m anticipating another successful few months ahead with many high points in the school calendar. The rhythm of school life will indeed gather pace over the course of the term with many brilliant learning opportunities taking place inside and outside the classroom.
Events include Year 4, 5 and 6 camps, digital citizenship week, Early Years stay and play dates, Early Years water fun days, Year 11 (I)GCSE examinations, Year 2 wetland excursions, Year 10 mock examinations and various transition events throughout the school. Building on the success of various Primary, Early Years and whole school performances from last term, we are also eagerly anticipating next week’s Secondary drama production, the Year 1 show, and Creative Arts week. Equally, the term promises to be exciting in the area of sport, and I know our Primary athletes are training hard for June’s Primary FOBISIA Games in Bangkok.
Planning for the school’s senior school campus in the North Plaza, our new AS/A Level programme, our new library, and Early Years playground is also taking shape. With this in mind, I am currently in the UK recruiting some new teachers to accommodate the school's growth across all three areas. I will update the school community of new staff in due course.
Please be aware that the deadline for applications to our scholarship programme is 4 pm on Friday, April 21 and we will be announcing the recipients soon after. I also wanted to remind parents that the school will be closed on May 1, 2 and 3 and will reopen for all on May 4.
Finally, a gentle reminder that withdrawal notices need to be submitted to the main office by the end of April at the latest.
Best wishes for the weekend ahead.
