Last Night of the Proms
I just wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all of the young musicians that performed yesterday at the 'Last Night of the Proms'.
It was a phenomenal evening’s entertainment with over 200 children from Year 1 to Year 11 performing an eclectic mix of popular Proms classics and contemporary UK chart hits.
A huge amount of hard work, dedication and rehearsal time has been put in throughout term 2 by both music teachers and students in preparation for the event. The standard of performance once again rose and this is testament and reflection of our student capabilities and how we as a school always strive to be 'Better than Before'. The students conducted themselves with a professional air throughout the concert and each performance was well executed.
It was lovely to see the majority of students spread across an array of ensembles, moving from one performing group to another and back again. We clearly have many well rounded musicians in the making.
Thank you to our audience for your interaction with our 'Internationalised' Chinese Dragon and for joining in with our magnificent finale singing 'Land of Hope and Glory' whilst waving your flags in celebration!
It is a pleasure to work with young and inspiring children each day and to work within such a supportive music department, school and community. All of which contributed to make the concert such a roaring success. Thank you everyone.
