A week in the life of DBIS
The past seven days have been another brilliant period at DBIS.
Thank you to all the staff, children and parents who took part in the many fun events celebrating Book Week across all three phases of the school. I also wanted to thank Mrs. Amrith Prabhu and our Secondary students for representing DBIS in the North East Asian Mathematics Competition held in Tokyo last week.
Currently, I am writing this post from Jakarta where I have had the privilege and pride of watching the school’s U13 FOBISIA team compete with such tenacity and commitment. DBIS may have a much smaller student number and fewer facilities than some of our rival schools, however, the spirit and dedication of our students is second to none. Thank you to Mr. Tim Tait, Ms. Sam Nicholls, Mrs. Kirstine Brownlie and Mr. Daniel Ashcroft for their outstanding encouragement and support of the team throughout the competition.
Life in the Early Years and Primary Sections of the School has also been busy this week with an important Physical Development day taking place and interviews for our new Deputy Head of Primary position conducted over two days.
We are now looking forward to the Year 12 & 13 information session for parents and students in the Globe Theatre on Monday March 13 at 6.30pm. This session is particularly important for current Year 11 parents, but there is an open invitation to other Secondary families too. To aid planning for the event, I would be grateful if you could indicate your attendance HERE.
Best wishes for the weekend ahead.
