What's Been Happening in Year 2
Last Friday, year 2 were lucky enough to explore space in a cardboard rocket when we visited the Space Dome. The dome was set up in the Globe and involved a fascinating introduction to space and even a rollercoaster simulation through the galaxy!
In Maths we have been learning about position and direction and have made ‘angle eaters’ to help us identify right angles.
We have been starting a new celebrations story unit in Writing. We are learning the story of ‘Chopsticks and the Dragon’ and are starting to innovate our own class version of the story. We will learn three new Writing Secrets that will help us to eventually write our very own stories with a celebrations theme.
In IPC we are continuing to research our chosen celebration and are starting to present the information ready for our ‘Celebration of Learning’ presentation to parents on 15th March.
It is World Book week this week and so we are looking forward to dressing up as our favourite characters on Thursday. We have been starting to make some school books. Year 1 wrote the beginning sections and passed it to us. We have written the build-up section and have passed it on to Year 3 to continue… We are now looking forward to reading the completed stories at the end of the week!
