The Nursery children have had a busy and productive this half term; it was delightful to observe the work by our students in all curriculum areas, both inside and beyond their classrooms.
Our Nursery students had a fabulous field trip to the primary school campus and had an exciting adventure with our LEAP van visit last week. Harold the giraffe reinforced the important message of ways we can keep our bodies healthy and strong and of course the bus trip proved to be an overwhelming highlight.
On Friday the teachers and children came to school dressed in traditional Indian clothing to celebrate Diwali, a very important Indian celebration. The children had the opportunity to hear the story of Ramayan as well as to explore some traditional Indian art experiences and learn about the traditions and beliefs of the Indian ‘Festival of Light’.
Throughout the year there will be many more achievements to celebrate as we watch closely the development of each child as well as how class dynamics change and develop. If there is a festival coming up that your family enjoys celebrating, we would love to include with your support, in our curriculum. Please mention it to your class teacher and we will do our best to incorporate it into our planning.
A huge thank you to the parents with the dress up days, support and your co-operation - we wouldn't be able to give the students such learning opportunities without your support.
