Operating over 2 campuses, the DBIS Library Service aims to give all students, from Early Years Foundation Stage up to Key Stage 4, access to reading books and research resources that are relevant to their lives and individual learning journeys.
The Primary / Secondary School Library is centrally located in the Discovery Centre between the Secondary and Primary schools. Secondary School students make extensive use of the library for study and research and have access to a qualified librarian. Through the English Department, they also participate in directed library sessions.
Our collection is made up of over 20,000 items, including classic and contemporary fiction, poetry, non-fiction books and periodicals and a suite of carefully selected online resources. All items are researched and selected to meet the requirements of our dynamic curriculum and to ensure we have suitable material for all ages and abilities.
Every year DBIS fields a strong and enthusiastic Secondary Battle of the Books team. This Hong Kong wide competition is designed to introduce students to a variety of reading material, build teamwork skills, and ensure that reading is fun.
